Small sized hot growing orchid found in parts of South
America.
The Plant
Looks similar to Brassavola
nodosa but the lip of the flower has raised veins and the leaves are much
broader and is seen as variety of Brassavola
nodosa
,
1 inflorescence per growth and each inflorescence produce
1-6 flowers. Usually flowers once year during spring and flower lasts a 2-3
weeks.
Cultural Requirements
and Nutrition
Easy care orchid. Grows in bright light and good air
circulation. Likes to be mounted. Water and fertilize heavily during the
growing season in summer and reduce watering and avoid fertilizing in winter to
set bloom cycle in spring.
I grow mine mounted in a tree fern and is exposed to direct
sun for a couple of hours. I weekly weakly provide a balanced fertilizer and
seaweed extract
