Found very commonly in South East Asia in
deciduous and semi deciduous forest from sea level to 500 meters
The
Plant
Small to large sized, hot to warm growing
epiphyte with basally swollen nodes that are ridged and almost purplish yellow
in color. Canes are deciduous in nature but continue to bloom from older canes
Flowers multiple times in a year. Flowering
is triggered by a sudden drop in temperature (10 degree C) (typically after a
rains). Blooms after 9 days of rain. Larger plants profusely flower with
fragrant but short-lived flowers
Cultural
Requirements and Nutrition
Grow in out doors and in direct sun. water
and fertilize all around the year.
Prefers to be mounted as the leaves can
freely hang and reduce the change of crown rot
